Medhat Awad (Owner) joined Venezia Exeter in 1998 as a Managing Partner from a Hotel & Catering background. He worked for 8 years in a number of London´s big 5 star hotels such as The Hilton, Sheraton and Ramada among others, as well as the opening of the famous Coppid Beech Hotel and Dry Sky Centre in Bracknell.

Medhat then came down to live in Devon while assisting with the running of the Old Manor House Hotel and Golf Club, now known as The Bovey Castle. 

After becoming the sole owner of Venezia Exeter in 2003 he has managed to change it from just a Cafe to a full A La Carte Mediterranean Restaurant, Fully Licensed Bar until 2:30am, a Salsa & Latin Dance Club every Sunday and the addition of Cafe Baba - our Famous Middle Eastern Cafe for sampling all types of fruit Sheesha, Mint tea and Arabic coffee.
